Serious accident alert after a miner falls at a sand and gravel mine; MSHA (USA) offers Best Practices

The Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) issued a serious accident alert after an incident at a sand and gravel mine. A miner was working atop the tail pulley section of an inclined conveyor, changing a speed reducer. He fell 42 inches from the conveyor to the ground and received serious injuries. There were no handrails, and the miner was not using fall protection equipment. (Source: Aggregates Manager)
