Congratulations ADBRI – Batesford Quarry on winning the 2026 CMPA Progressive Rehabilitation Award. Their clear rehabilitation strategy linked to the approved Work Plan and regular reviews to assess rehabilitation effectiveness and aligning with objectives impressed the judging panel.

The Construction Material Processors Association’s (CMPA) Progressive Rehabilitation Awards, sponsored by Resources Victoria, recognise Victorian quarry operators who demonstrate best practice progressive rehabilitation practices across Victoria’s extractive resources sector.
Progressive rehabilitation is an essential way industry can maintain their social licence. Not only does it minimise the area disturbed on extractive sites and improves the site’s amenity; progressive rehabilitation lowers the rehabilitation remaining at closure.
The Awards were assessed by a panel of judges based on the following:
- The quality of rehabilitation delivered
- How well the work aligns with the approved rehabilitation plan
- How the operator monitors, assesses and continually improves its rehabilitationWhether operational decisions are being made with rehabilitation objectives in mind.
We express our sincere thanks to our 2026 Panel of Chris Prowse (C.K. Prowse & Associates), Bessie Abbott (Resources Victoria), and John Mitas (John Mitas Consulting).

Commended – BARRO GROUP – Lang Lang
Barro Group demonstrated forward rehabilitation schedule. From an operational perspective, there was extraction sequencing, stockpile placement and quarry operation design to facilitate rehabilitation.

Barro Lang Lang Site
Commended – DE Quarry Solutions – Skipton
DE Quarry Solutions showed that progressive rehabilitation occurs as terminal boundaries are exposed. Stage 1A has been completed and Stage 2 currently underway. Rehabilitation aligned with the Work Plan and elevated areas had been sacrificed to reduce visual exposure, enhance profile of scoria and improved vegetation.
