The tribunal has backed a quarry operator’s decision to terminate the employment of a worker who flouted site safety policies. The recent Fair Work Commission (FWC) ruling related to Metro Quarry Group’s appeal of an earlier FWC decision made in September 2015, which ordered the Victoria-based quarry operator to pay more than $11,500 to a former employee for unfair dismissal.
